The International College's faculty and staff, as well as representatives from international students, took part in a fire-fighting simulation on November 19 as part of China University of Mining and Technology's 2021 Fire-fighting Awareness Week.

Before the practice began, the on-site instructor in charge explained fire classification and extinguisher selection, as well as demonstrating the conventional method of lifting, pulling, holding, and pressing which is the fire extinguisher operating procedure. Each Chinese and foreign teacher and student was able to extinguish it on the spot using the usual fire extinguisher approach when facing fire.

Safety is the foundation of everything. Concealed risks are more hazardous than open fires, and duty weighs more than Mount Tai. Through this firefighting drill, Chinese and international teachers and students have enhanced their fire safety knowledge, increased their awareness of fire safety, improved their emergency rescue capabilities, and laid the groundwork for completely eliminating potential safety hazards, carrying out emergency management work in a systematic manner, and creating a safe college.
