On October 21st, the opening ceremony of the “Chinese Bridge” Winter Camp for International Students 2023 was successfully held. This program was co-organized by International College of China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT) and Chinese Teachers (Thailand) Association. Supported by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education, this program was hosted by CUMT for the first time. This event benefits mutual interaction and promotes both the Chinese language and culture.
Wu Gefei, Dean of International College, and Chen Liang, Deputy Director of International Office, presided over the opening ceremony with the presence of the teachers and students from the Chinese Teachers (Thailand) Association, as well as our students and teachers.
“This is a grand event organized by CUMT and Chinese Teachers (Thailand) Association to promote exchanges in the field of education between China and Thailand and to strengthen the friendship between the two peoples.” Professor Wu GeFei said. He pointed out that Thai middle school students and Thai Chinese teachers could learn more about China and CUMT through the “Chinese Bridge” Winter Camp for International Students 2023. At the same time, a deep connection would be established between Chinese and Thai students.
Mr. Chen Liang expressed that this program will pave the way for educational exchange between China and Thailand. Furthermore, it will establish a platform for the youth of both nations to have greater understanding and cooperation.
Huang Shuhuan, the teacher of the Chinese Teachers (Thailand) Association, expressed her gratitude to CUMT for organizing this camp. She said that the “Chinese Bridge” Winter Camp for International Students 2023 will provide a valuable opportunity for Thai teachers and students to have a deeper understanding of Chinese language and culture, and will also play a positive role in enhancing communications and cooperation between China and Thailand.
Afterwards, Yagaya Maabad, a Comorian student, and Teng Yue, a Chinese student, sang the Chinese song China in Lamplight, and some students from Southeast Asia performed a medley of Southeast Asian Dance.
The determination and efforts of CUMT in promoting Sino-foreign educational exchanges is reflected by the successful organization of “Chinese Bridge” Winter Camp for International Students 2023. We hope that through the activities such as the winter camp, a durable collaborative partnership can be forged, thereby enhancing the international influence of CUMT.
