On the afternoon of March 7, 2025, the Teaching Conference for the New Semester of our college was held in Room 2217. Fang Kun, Vice Dean and Deputy Party Secretary of the International College, attended the meeting, alongside relevant personnel from the Teaching Affairs Office, Student Affairs Office, and all full-time and part-time faculty members. The meeting was chaired by Cui Xiaopeng from the Teaching Affairs Office.
During the conference, Vice Dean Fang Kun outlined key requirements for the semester, highlighting three guiding principles: improving strategic position, maintaining rigorous standards, and immersing in student life. He emphasized that first, faculty must “elevate strategic alignment to serve national priorities.” All teachers should anchor their work in the “Double First-Class” initiative, tightly integrating curriculum design with national demands and the university’s global vision to strengthen students’ Chinese cultural consciousness and global perspective. Second, he stressed the need for “rigorous standardization to solidify foundational teaching practices,” requiring strict adherence to standardized, scientific processes in teaching management, including lesson planning, assessments, attendance tracking, and course documentation, to ensure traceable and improvable educational quality. Third, he called for “immersing in student life to enhance educational impact,” urging teachers and counselors to proactively connect with international students, address their academic and daily challenges through mechanisms like academic support programs, and achieve targeted, personalized education to foster a warmer, more supportive learning environment. As the university’s window of international education, Fang noted, the International College must uphold exceptional standards to advance high-quality teaching and solidify its reputation as a globally influential academic institution.
Cui Xiaopeng from the Teaching Affairs Office introduced the teaching arrangements, teaching ethics requirements, and teaching norms. The attending teachers also exchanged views on recent teaching experiences to support international students’ cross-cultural adaptation.
The conference clarified the goals and actionable plans for the semester, and the College will take concrete measures to enhance teaching quality and efficiency, in order to provide a solid guarantee for the cultivation of globally competitive international talents.
