On the 20th of September, 2023, Prof. Wu Gefei, the Dean of the International College, Li Honghai, the Vice Dean, Meng Lei and Pan Meichen, the representatives from International college received the representatives from Norwid High School in Poland. At the meeting, they had in-depth discussions and exchanges on their future cooperation.

During this meeting, the two sides firstly presented a brief introduction on the history, scale, pedagogical notion and international cooperation of their respective schools. Lukasz Kalota, the international relations representative from Norwid High School said that Norwid High School has always been committed to providing students with high-quality education, places great emphasis on promoting cross-cultural exchanges and partnerships with other nations,including China.He also invited China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT) to visit their school to promote Chinese education concepts and culture, and attract more excellent international students to further their studies in China. Furthermore, the two sides have planned to develop a cooperation in term of sports, including reciprocal competitions and collaborative training sessions in both volleyball and basketball. Moreover there will also be a scientific collaboration in the fields of sports, health,and wellness research to investigate the fusion of physical education and health sciences. Finally concerning the international short-term camp, they both hoped that this program will be the first step to offer more opportunities for Norwid High School students to partake in study and exchange programs in China.

After the meeting, the representatives from Norwid High School accompanied by our college representatives went to the Nanhu Campus of CUMT for a visit. After this tour and in-depth communication,the Norwid High School representatives gained a deeper understanding of the campus culture and facilities of the university which is of great significance for our potential future collaborations.

This visit represents a significant exchange in the areas of education and scientific research between CUMT and Norwid High School. We hope that through this visit, a durable collaborative partnership can be forged,thereby the advancement of education and scientific research will be developed for both sides.
