On the Mid-Autumn Festival, people always celebrate with their family under the full moon. At 2:00 pm on September 26th, 36 students from 15 countries gathered at Dapeng Town Culture Station under the leadership of our teachers to carry out a unique Mid-Autumn Cultural Practice.
The first stop was the Culture Station of Dapeng Town, Xuzhou City, where teachers and students gathered together to experience the traditional culture of the Mid-Autumn Festival. Teachers from the station introduced the origin and development of the Mid-Autumn Festival and its importance in Chinese culture. After that, the teachers patiently guided the international students to make mooncakes with their own hands, from mixing the dough, wrapping the fillings to molding the mooncakes, every step was filled with the students' enthusiasm and efforts. Under the careful guidance of the teachers, exquisite mooncakes appeared on the plate one after another, and the atmosphere was warm and harmonious.
Afterwards, the group went to the Thousand Buddha Temple on Chuwang Mountain to enjoy the Guqin and experience the tea art. In the ancient temple, everyone listened to the melodious sound of Guqin and tasted the time-honored tea art, feeling the depth and serenity of Chinese culture. Amid the fragrance of tea and the sound of Guqin, everyone expressed their love and admiration for Chinese traditional culture.
This activity not only enhanced the friendship between students from different countries, but also deepened their understanding of Chinese traditional culture. In their eyes, this Mid-Autumn Festival is more than an activity, it is a journey of the soul and a cultural experience through time and space. It is expected that in the process of understanding and appreciating Chinese culture, international students will become messengers of Chinese and foreign cultural exchange and contribute to the promotion of cultural diversity in the world.
