On the 24th of October, 2023, Professor Chen Zhihong from the Institute for International Students of Nanjing University was invited to deliver a lecture on “China’s Reform and Opening-Up Policy” for international students. The aim of the lecture was to discuss the current trends and requirements of education for studying in China in the new era, as well as to enhance the quality of education for international students based on China’s national context.
Professor Chen Zhihong offered a detailed explanation for “China’s Reform and Opening-up Policy” mainly from three aspects: “the importance for understanding of China’s Reform and Opening-up Policy”, “Reform Path: Grassroots-Level Exploration and Top-Level Design” and “Opening-up Policy: From Participant to Leader”. Afterwards, our students were guided to make discussion through interactive forms including questionnaires and Q&A.
Our students said that through listening to Prof. Chen Zhihong’s lecture, they have gained a deeper understanding of China’s Reform and Opening-up Policy as well as the fundamental reasons behind China’s rapid socio-economic development. They also expressed their willingness to share what they have learned with more foreigners to promote mutual exchange and understanding.
