The International College Held a New Year’s Tea Party for Students and Faculty in 2024

On the afternoon of January 2, the College’s 2024 New Year Tea Party for Teachers and Students took place in Maoyuan Student Activity Center, Wenchang Campus. Prof. Wu Gefei, who is the Dean of the International College and Director of International Students’ Office, along with Li Honghai, Vice Dean of the International College, and all the faculty and staff, gathered with over 200 international students to bid farewell to the successful year of 2023 and welcome the upcoming year of 2024.

Looking back on the year 2023, the College has made significant achievements in the areas of open school running, national education, and improving the school system for studying in China. Wu Gefei commended these accomplishments in his speech and expressed his sincere gratitude to all the Chinese and foreign teachers and students for their hard work over the past year. He emphasized that in the new year, the International College would continue to uphold the principles of openness, tolerance, and sharing, as well as strengthen its disciplinary strengths. He added that the college would expand foreign cooperation, prioritize quality, strive to enhance comprehensive management capabilities, and continue to contribute to multicultural exchanges and mutual understanding at CUMT.

Donlaya Deeduangpan from Thailand, Nawal Mohammed Aliali Al-Muntaser from Yemen, Covic Kipanda Mutonkole from DRC and Nasir Siddique from Pakistan spoke on behalf of the matriculants, undergraduates, masters and doctoral students respectively. They fondly reviewed their study life in 2023 and expressed their good wishes for 2024.

Five students from various countries presented musical performances for the audience. The lively raffle session added interactive enjoyment to the tea party, and the college prepared a range of prizes to bring surprises and well wishes to our teachers and students for the New Year.

During the event, Li Honghai awarded the winners of the 2023 Chinese Writing Competition and took pictures with the winners of the Student Dormitory Health and Safety Competition in the fourth quarter of 2023.

This event not only marked a successful conclusion to the college’s work in 2023, but also instilled boundless motivation and hope for the upcoming year. The new era is filled with opportunities, and the new journey is inspiring. our teachers and students have expressed their determination to seize the momentum in the new year, advance forward, show a new style, and make progress.
