In order to acquaint international students with Chinese legal requirements while assisting them in establishing proper academic and living routines, the college organized a new student orientation session for its 2025 Chinese Language Pre-university Program cohort at 4:00 PM on March 14 in Room 2319. The event welcomed 36 incoming students from seven countries, alongside invited speakers including Officers Li Yunlong and Yu Zihui from the Quanshan Division Entry-Exit Administration Unit of Xuzhou Public Security Bureau, as well as the college’s international student counselors.
The session commenced with warm applause. Mr. Fang Lizheng, an international student counselor, opened by welcoming the new cohort to CUMT for their Chinese language studies. He encouraged them to swiftly adapt to the campus environment and thoughtfully immerse themselves in academic and cultural experiences. Officer Yu Zihui then delivered detailed explanation of Chinese regulations, visa procedures, and key considerations for daily life in China. Her presentation included two video segments highlighting critical safety advisories from traffic compliance to fraud prevention strategies. After the session, Officer Yu interacted with the international students and answered their questions.
Knowledge of laws and regulations is an important part of studying abroad. As an essential component of the university’s orientation program, this session aims to help students become responsible legal adherents, proactive cultural ambassadors, and bridges of cross-cultural friendship, ultimately contributing to a harmonious campus community and stronger global connections.
