International Student Wins Third Prize at Jiangsu Chinese speech contest

On September 17, the 3rd Jiangsu Province My Story of Chinese Hanzi Chinese Speech Competition concluded successfully in Nanjing. Yang He, a Myanmar-born international student from CUMT, stood out from the competitors and won the third prize with her excellent language expression and sincere emotional delivery. 

With the theme of (to exceed), this competition attracted enthusiastic participation from international contestants across 13 cities in Jiangsu Province, resulting in intense competition. Yang He delivered a speech titled 从缅甸到中国我的超越之路(My Journey of Transcendence from Myanmar to China). Drawing on her own study-abroad experience, she affectionately shared how learning Chinese characters has built a bridge for cultural exchange between China and Myanmar, and conveyed her love and understanding of Chinese culture. Her fluent Chinese expression, calm stage presence and inspiring speech content won unanimous praise from the judges and audience. Yang He stated that this award is not only an affirmation of her achievements in Chinese learning, but also encourages her to further explore Chinese culture and strive to be an envoy for cultural exchange between China and foreign countries. 

This award fully demonstrates the achievements of CUMT in International Chinese Language Education, and further ignites the enthusiasm of our international students for learning Chinese and exploring Chinese culture. We will continue to provide international students with better platforms for language learning and cultural practice, contributing to the promotion of inter-civilization exchange and mutual learning.
